SLEs are outstanding middle and senior leaders in positions below the headteacher, with at least two years leadership experience. They have a particular area of expertise and a successful track record of school improvement. SLEs support leaders in other schools through a variety of activities, such as data analysis, coaching or joint action planning.

How to apply to become a SLE / DLE
We recruit SLEs (and DLEs) twice a year. Please use links below to access application information from the last recruitment round (Summer 2017). If you have any queries please contact Ben Cotton (details left).
I became an SLE over five years ago. Becoming an SLE gave me both the opportunity and confidence to have an impact beyond my school. It was rewarding and varied working alongside colleagues from across the region. The role is really about developing and growing leadership capacity in others, but I found that being an SLE grew my own leadership skills enormously. I'm sure being an SLE helped me to secure my movement into senior leadership, a year after being accredited. I couldn't recommend it strongly enough...Ben Cotton is Assistant Principal at KEVICC with responsibility for Teaching and Learning.
