Performance Data Services
Supporting member schools to keep on top of performance data is one of the ways we assist leaders and governors. With ever-changing performance measures, from RAISE to Inspection Dashboards, leaders can find it difficult to stay up to date. Through our senior associate - Jon Lunn - we aim to ensure that all members are ahead of changes and able to be pro-active in how they use data.
jon lunn - performance specialist
Jon Lunn (Director of Performance for the Ted Wragg Trust) is employed by Dartmoor TSA as a Senior Associate with responsibility for developing outstanding data leadership across Alliance members. Jon provides the Alliance with comparative performance data that enables us to identify strengths and areas for development.
Jon provides half termly updates to member schools at our Member Forum meetings. |
I was appointed to Head of ICT Faculty at Teignmouth Community School in 2000 after working in Hampshire for 9 years. I was appointed to Assistant Principal in 2004 with responsibility for School Performance/Data. In 2012 I achieved Specialist Leader of Education for Data Leadership working with the South West Teaching School Alliance. This role has enabled me to work with many school leadership teams in a variety of data/school performance ways. In 2013 Teignmouth Community School became a Multi Academy Trust with Inverteign Primary School operating as a through school. In the September of that year I was appointed to Vice Principal of the through school with responsibility for School, Staff and Student performance. In my spare time I enjoy walking along the wonderful beaches of Devon with my family and our dog. I am an avid Chiefs supporter and can still be seen running around a hockey pitch like a headless chicken every Saturday for ISCA hockey club.

Secondary internal raise & inspection dashboards
We are pleased to confirm that Dartmoor TSA secondary members now have access to a new suite of data tools for use with internal data. These include:
These tools have been developed by Mark Beeston, who works closely with Jon Lunn. They have many interactive features. One of the most useful is the ability to model different scenarios.
The above services are all included in your Dartmoor TSA membership fee so no extra cost to schools. Some schools are already using these tools as they have are available to SWTSA members as well.
If you would like to get started, please contact Mark Beeston via email | mark_beeston@yahoo.co.uk
- RAISEOnline-style full report
- Inspection Dashboard-style report
- Performance Tables summary that mirrors that used by Ofsted pre-inspection

bench marking
We provide bench marking for all member schools, which include schools from Dartmoor TSA, SWTSA and Academies South West. As a result we can provide a rich comparative base from which schools can effectively judge they own performance and identify schools that could offer support for school improvement.
Schools are invited to share their data at key publication dates across the year. Below is our Performance Data Sharing Protocol.

NEW| Primary idash (internal IDSR and ASP)
Product description
Dartmoor Teaching School Alliance has commissioned Mark Beeston (Data Specialist) to develop an Excel spreadsheet into which you can load in-year assessment data to produce replicas of the primary IDRS and ASP.
Features
Identify your Key Lines of Enquiry
Using the iDASH means you don’t have to wait for Autumn Data Checking and the subsequent (Un)validated releases to have an insight into the key trends emerging from your recent EYFS to KS2 performance data. From publication of your raw data in July, the iDASH enables you to model the data on the previous year’s progress coefficients and produce a predictive IDSR and ASP report, thus enabling you to start planning your school improvement priorities and hit the ground running in September.
Use across the year to model
Across the year, you can enter your predicted outcomes for pupils to create an updated IDSR and ASP. As all calculations update instantly you can easily see the effect on performance indicators of different outcomes. The latest version has 4 data drops to see fluctuations through the year.
Supporting Governance
Schools can use the iDASH to present performance data to governors in a consistent format. This reduces the need for governors to master multiple formats of data, they only need CPD on IDSR interpretation to provide effective challenge which is then recorded in LGB minutes.
Compare to other schools
Share your iDASH to access analysis of up to 100 large and small schools, helping you to gauge your relative performance and identify schools with improving trends to network and collaborate.
Ongoing support
Users can access technical support from Mark Beeston (via email) and technical workshops.
Cost
Dartmoor TSA Primary Members: No Charge.
This includes: Spreadsheet, pre-populating historic data, email support / updates up to Dec 2019.
Endorsement
“Do you want to be able to predict what your inspection dashboard is going to look like in the autumn term? Use your in-year predictions with this amazing new system to generate an internal IDSR and ASP. Present to your governing body and SLT the headlines in a consistent format, enabling you to keep the main thing, the main thing!”
